Co-Teaching and LRE Resources

General Education and Special Education teachers are expected to collaborate to provide effective instruction for all students in their classroom.  Here you will find four recorded powerpoint presentations that address the best practices of Co-Teaching and the roles that each teacher plays in implementing those practices.

Defining Co-Teaching and Parity provides an overview of what effective Co-Teaching encompasses along with tools for creating parity in the classroom.

Co-Planning with Efficiency and Effectiveness Part 1 and Part 2 explore the roles that both special education and general education teachers play in planning standards based lessons with the needs of all students considered.  It includes examples of a lesson plan template and how to include the role of each teacher in the planning process as well as in the actual lesson.

Co-Teaching Instruction and Assessment provide examples of applied co-planning in the classroom and the role that assessment plays in the instructional setting.
